Eau de Cartier marks the jeweler's first step into the world
of unisex perfumes.
The creator, Christine Nagel used a magic ingredient: yuzu,
a citrus native to Japan that possesses a slightly bitter
flavor. Yuzu has been claimed to have stimulating and
calming properties. The fragrance opens on a sparkling note
of yuzu and bergamot that awakens the senses and it evolves
into a floral and aromatic heart note. Christine Nagel also
used violet blossoms and leaves as their scent appeals to
both men and women. A hint of lavender softens the slightly
"sweet" tone of the violet and gives the fragrance
freshness. The end note is deep and sensuous with musk,
cedarwood, amber and patchouli. "Those ingredients give the
fragrance a warm and tenacious sillage. Contrasts are what
make this perfume original. Despite its name and its
freshness, it is a perfume in its own right," says Christine
Nagel.
